Before this church was built, the first religious interest in North Brewer and Eddington commenced under the labors of Rev. Billings CLAPP and Rev. William MARSH, and was attached to the Orrington circuit comprised of Orrington, Brewer Village, Eddington, North Brewer, Carmel, Hermon, Upper Stillwater, Veazie, Otis and Clifton.
Aliza W. EATON owned the land the church is built on. She married a prominent member of the church, Luther V. GILMORE

*Issac CLEWLEY was the first soldier from our area to give his life for his country. He was born in 1923 and died in 1943 at the age of 20. The plaque is also in honor of all the men and women who joined the Armed Services for our country.
